This receiver is manufactured with strict quality control, plus features an ejection port cover, forward assist, and an integral Picatinny rail that extends the length of the handguard. The SOLGW V2 CHF barrels remain appropriately gassed for use with or without a suppressor of your choosing. This Cold Hammer Forged version is a good match for shooters who frequently get their carbines hot, and are looking for a highly durable barrel.
The SOLGW V2 CHF profile was designed with our customers’ needs in mind, delivering increased accuracy while balancing suppressed handling and performance. With the significantly increased chamber support, SOLGW barrels are better suited for modern configurations where lights, lasers and suppressors all add to a commonly muzzle heavy carbine. The transfer of material to the rear of the barrel helps to offset the weight of accessories, and stiffens the barrel at the same time – reducing POI shifts between suppressed and unsuppressed use. The gas journal length has been shortened as well to optimized weight distribution, so please note that fixed front sight bases will not fit on this barrel, only low profile gas blocks.

What’s the Difference between the M89 and L89?
While both handguards use the patent-pending Drive Lock System, there are a few notable differences that may lead someone to choosing one over the other:
- The most noticeable difference is the M-LOK Slots. The L89 features 7 sided M-LOK slots, whereas the M89 retains more substantial cutouts for cooling around the handguard, reducing the quantity of M-LOK slots
- The L89 has an internal QD sling swivel socket built in to the rear of the handguard, whereas the M89 must use an M-LOK QD sling swivel socket
- The L89 features a titanium barrel nut, which is going to save a good amount of weight compared to the steel barrel nut in the M89 handguard
What is the Drive Lock System?
The Drive Lock System is a Patent-Pending design based on a Hodge defense Extrusion that uses a system of wedges that interface with the barrel nut and “drive” it towards the upper receiver as it is tightened. This system clamps on to the barrel nut with extreme force and precision, providing an extremely robust mounting platform.
