SOLGW BROADSWORD L89 SERIES Rifle – 12.5 inch SBR – 5.56
$1,995.00
The Sons of Liberty Gun Works BROADSWORD-89 receivers take what we loved about the BROADSWORD and make the handguard lockup even more stout than before. With relief cuts on the face of the upper receiver, the BROADSWORD-89 upper seamlessly integrates with the SOLGW M89/L89 handguards. This enhanced lockup reduces fail flex even further, so aggressive bipod and barricade loading will have the least impact on POI shift of any combination we’ve ever tested.

As before, the BROADSWORD receivers have a few notable features that the standard SOLGW Forged receivers do not.
- The upper receiver is significantly reinforced along its entire profile to stiffen the interface between the barrel, handguard, and mounted optics.
- The Grip tang has been moved ½” rearward to optimize finger positioning on the trigger shoe, for reduced fatigue and increased ergonomics. The use of the FCD ESF end plate is suggested as grips with extended tangs with otherwise protrude beyond the rear of the receiver.
- The lower receiver features a Right Side Bolt Release for convenient reloading from prone positions. (RH bolt release assembly included).
- The Forward Assist has been shifted forward so left handed manipulations of the charging handle have added clearance.
- The magazine well is significantly flared.
- The trigger guard is integral and highly radiused for comfort.

What is the Drive Lock System?
SOLGW M89 vs L89
What’s the Difference between the M89 and L89?
While both handguards use the patent-pending Drive Lock System, there are a few notable differences that may lead someone to choosing one over the other:
- The most noticeable difference is the M-LOK Slots. The L89 features 7 sided M-LOK slots, whereas the M89 retains more substantial cutouts for cooling around the handguard, reducing the quantity of M-LOK slots
- The L89 has an internal QD sling swivel socket built in to the rear of the handguard, whereas the M89 must use an M-LOK QD sling swivel socket
- The L89 features a titanium barrel nut, which is going to save a good amount of weight compared to the steel barrel nut in the M89 handguard
